It’s that time of year when wedding vendors start to receive more & more inquiries for next year. It’s exciting to have the ‘I’m engaged’ emails pop up in my inbox, and I love getting to know you and your wedding day dreams!!
It’s a time of adventure, romance, excitement and stress. There’s a lot going on, and a lot of things on your to-do list. During this time, it’s so easy to forget the bigger picture. It’s easy to get caught up in ‘the next big thing’ and you forget what it feels like to sit on the couch with his hand in yours. I’ve been there before. I was a bride once, and still like to think of Matt and I as newlyweds:) I’ll never forget making our covenant before God and am so honored to be his Mrs.
I want to encourage you to not rush the process. While the ‘next big thing’ really is awesome (hello, marriage!), this season of your life right now is pretty wonderful too. Things don’t become magically more romantic after the ring… in fact, there’s no magic to it. There’s just hard work, picking your battles and choosing to love each other ’til death do you part. Is is worth it? Oh yes! And while your day should be special, and your details do look prettier when they’re cohesive, it’s not the end of the world if something goes wrong. Enjoy this time of planning your wedding. Don’t let it trigger stress in your life, and remember that your wedding day is about one thing & one thing only: the two of you saying I Do in front of your family, your friends and Jesus:)
